Microgaps are common in the CB series. They can be described as
multiple paltry cracked lines on the surface of either side of
the capacitor. The microgap is an intrinsic phenomenon for the
stacked metallized plastic film capacitor technology. It has no
effect on the mechanical, electrical and reliability
characteristics of the CB capacitors.

SMD Chip Film Capacitors

KYOCERA AVX SMD Chip Film Capacitors are available in various case sizes ranging from 1206 to 6054. These capacitors feature the self-healing properties of film dielectric that provide an open failure mode capacitor with excellent reliability. The series offers low DC bias, excellent thermal behavior, and a low dissipation factor with low equivalent series resistance (ESR) and low equivalent series inductance (ESL). KYOCERA AVX SMD Chip Film Capacitors are available in three dielectrics: PEN, PET-HT, and PPS.
