ThermoFuse™ Varistors

TDK ThermoFuse™ Varistors feature a wide operating voltage range of 130V_RMS to 750V_RMS. These varistors are self-protected under abnormal overvoltage conditions and offer high-energy Advanced series E2. TDK ThermoFuse varistors include either leaded square varistor elements or leaded round varistor elements. These varistors are made of epoxy molding and are flame-retardant as per UL 94 V-0. The ThermoFuse varistors come with tinned copper wire and metal compound wire terminals. Typical applications include power meters, telecom, transient voltage surger suppressors (TVSS), and household appliances.

MT ThermoFuse™ Varistors

TDK MT ThermoFuse™ Varistors are equipped with monitor outputs and integrated thermal protective components for overvoltage protection. These specially developed quadratic disk varistors are connected in series with a patented thermal protective component design. In the case of a persistent overvoltage and heating of the TDK varistor, the fuse is activated and separates the varistor from the circuit with a high level of reliability. This prevents potential damage to the PCB or the components installed in the varistor’s vicinity.

MT25 ThermoFuse™ Varistors

TDK MT25 ThermoFuse™ Varistors are metal oxide varistors that provide a high peak surge current of up to 20kA. TDK MT25 ThermoFuse Varistors feature a leaded square varistor element and a compact size with a patented over-molded design. The series is UL1449 approved, type 4CA, and designed for use in surge protection devices, inverters, street lighting, and more.
